Neighbourhood Centre Week
Neighbourhood Centre Week for 2020 starts on the 8th of May, with the theme “Loneliness: the solution is community”. Here at Highlands Community Centres we want to remind you that we are here for you even though Stafford Cottage and the Youth Hub are closed. We miss seeing our clients face to face and we look forward to opening the doors again, hopefully in the not too distant future. In the meantime, we are still available via phone, email, Zoom and social media – don’t hesitate to reach out – we want to hear from you!
How can we help?
• If you need help for a specific problem or issue the Community Worker and Aboriginal Community Worker can have a chat, offer support and point you in the right direction of more targeted help, whether it be financial, housing, food, issues with family and domestic violence or any other issue you might be facing. Call Nicole on 0437 367 494 or Lisa on 0498 075 198.
• NILS – You can still apply for a NILS loan, applications are being done over the phone. Call 4862 1122.
• Highlands Youth Services – the youth work team are doing all sorts of fun things online and are still available to support young people. Call 4862 1122.
As soon as we can we will be offering our programs such as Links to Learning, My Life My Dreams, On Track and Tuning in to Teens again. We know that these programs provide participants with a sense of community and belonging. In the meantime a friendly voice is only a phone call away.
